Sins of Omission - India Harper David and Carver are not your usual strong, all - knowing Dom and pliant sub pairing. Both of them like to call the shots as well as taking orders. Since David is the more experienced with that kind of thing (and also the older of the two), he's the dominant partner in the beginning. But Carver's tendency to talk before thinking steers them into a situation where David suddenly has to give up control, and Carver is the one who must show responsibility not only or himself, but also for his lover. After reading the entire Deviations series in one go, I was quite fed up with BDSM and the entire Dom/sub thing. So when the story turned into just another one of those, I almost quit reading. I'm happy I didn't, though. Both men are less than set in their roles. David thinks he's the Dom, but at some point he's got to realize that dominate means more than being in control, it means being in charge. And Carver learns that giving up control doesn't have to mean giving up his personality. In the end it's all about trust. It's beautiful to watch both men change and grow over the course of the story, and I found myself really caring about them. Recommended not for the BDSM purist (and neither for the m/m purist, because there's some m/f action in there too), but for everybody else who likes a good tale with lots of hot scenes and quite a bit of thoughtfulness
