Boy was Joshua a pushover! He was the main reason this book didn't quite work for me, the way he let himself be guilt-tripped into just about anything and ended up constantly groveling in the dust where he was actually the wronged party. Otherwise, the book wasn't bad at all. Even though I never warmed up to Joshua and even though some of the other characters acted in a way that made me shake my head at them more than once, I kept turning pages, wanting to know what was going to happen next. It's a really well-written book. Readers who manage to like the characters and who can actually relate to their motives might enjoy it much more than I did.
