A mixed-feelings book for me. The story in and of itself was good, and the romance was really sweet, despite the bondage, whips, floggers and sundry other toys. Jason, though... So what if his dad didn't actually jump with joy at having a seventeen year old son he'd never even known existed sprung at him out of the blue? So what if Jason was barely on sufferance in his father's house, not lastly because of his nonconformist lifestyle? From what I read, Jason, for his part, didn't give a damn about his father's life either. Disrespect for disrespect, he reaped what he sowed. No need to whine about it. Henry actually got it in one. Jason is a damsel in distress if there ever was one, completely with running from parental care right into spousal dependency. Though, apparently the latter was exactly what both of them needed, so the relationship made sense. The book ended on a wholly satisfactory HFN for me and made me curious about where Henry and Jason are going to go from there. If there were to be a sequel, I'd certainly read it.
