Power Play: Resistance: Volume 1

Power Play: Resistance - Rachel Haimowitz, Cat Grant Hard to read and hard to rate. This book was incredibly intense, it kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the time. At times what Jonathan did to Bran definitely exceeded non-con; it rather read as if Jonathan was brainwashing him, and I could feel all the frustration, the exhaustion both characters went through. I wanted to scream at Jonathan, you idiot! Can't you see you got it all wrong! and at Bran, get outta there fast and fuck the money, this isn't worth it, not even three million dollars! The last chapter redeemed the whole thing in a way, made the journey worthwhile, but boy until I got there, that was a rocky road. ETA: Reconsidering and discussing this, I drew a star. Two stars for the bad stereotypical characterization of Jonathan, and four stars for the very competent, intense writing, so three overall. Might change again in the future.
