This reminded me a bit of the movie Victor/ Victoria (a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman...) ,just replace man and woman by gay and straight. Read for what it was, a whodunnit comedy of errors (despite the murder/ violence plot), it was ok. However, the humor appeared quite contrived, and the main characters often behaved like bratty twelve-year-olds rather than the supposedly mature thirtysomethings they're supposed to be. Their voices were quite similar too including the habit of interspersing their counterpart`s name with a half-sentence description ("Will I'm so straight I sleep with a stick up my spine Harrison") which was funny the first two, three times but got annoying after the tenth or so time. The plot demanded a lot of suspension of disbelief, beginning with the whole concept of Laurel Heights over the mystery plot to the fact that someone with a bullet through their intestines could make longish speeches like one character did in here.
